Many superstar DJs are confused about a local DJ who claims to have shared the stage with them at one point in their career.
John Loranger, a local DJ from Boise, ID works as a bartender at The Ethereal; a 1200 person capacity nightclub that regularly books famous EDM DJs from around the world.
John taught himself how to DJ with a laptop and a controller and is amateur-level at best.
However, since he’s loved as a bartender, the owner of the club sometimes lets him play some tunes a few hours before the club opens when crew is still setting up.
This way, John claims, he has shared the stage with names ranging from Tiesto, Armin van Buuren (when they were still playing the B-circuit), Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Laidback Luke, Florian Picasso, Marlo, Yves V and many more.
Just because none of these DJs confirm to have met me, know me, apped me or blocked me, it does not mean I have not shared the stage with them.
However, when asked, none of these DJs have ever heard of the guy, much less met him.
That doesn’t really matter to John though.
John Loranger: “Just because none of these DJs confirm to have met me, know me, apped me or blocked me, it does not mean I have not shared the stage with them.
When I am playing tunes at 7pm with doors still closed and no one but staff inside, I warm up the dancefloor like a pro. That way, 6 hours later, the headliner DJs can come in like the superstars they are, and I can – and will – claim to have shared the stage with them.
Because it IS the same stage. That 6 hour time gap does not matter. nor the fact they have not the slightest idea who I am.”
Sadly we feel John is a little delusional and cannot claim he has shared the stage with these big names. However, we appreciate his drive, and maybe someday he will turn into that headliner DJ himself if he keeps on practicing.
